Nina Marie Armstrong, 88 of Fort Smith, Ark., passed away Aug. 17. She was born March 4, 1918, in Hackett, Ark., to Robert and Nancy Cain.

She was a co-owner of Mansfield Plumbing and Heating, a member of Mansfield First Baptist Church and a 50-year Worthy Matron of the Order of Eastern Star.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Cecil Armstrong; a daughter Merilyn Marie Armstrong; two brothers, Arbe and Warner Cain; a grandson William Armstrong; and one great-grandson Tristan Hutchinson.

She is survived by two sons and their wives; four daughters and their husbands; one brother and his wife; two sisters; eighteen grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Monday at 2 p.m. at Mansfield First Baptist Church. Burial was in Old Union Cemetery.

Honorary pallbearers were deacons of First Baptist Church and Earl Overton. McConnell Funeral Home, Greenwood, was in charge of arrangements.
