OBITUARY:

Joe W. Byer

Stafford - Joe W. Byer, 73, died Saturday, Oct. 3, 2015, at Stafford. Born Aug. 23, 1942 at Stafford, he was the son of John and Dayle McMillan Byer.

He served in the Air National Guard, serving as an airplane mechanic. He later received his pilots license and enjoyed flying his own airplane. He was a past member of the Kansas Livestock Association, and Stafford City Council.

On Aug. 11, 1979, he married Jane Fischer at Stafford. He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Jane; son, Jaret Byer and wife Julie; daughters, Angela Hanson and husband Troy and Dawn Bankston and husband Bill; and seven grandchildren.

Memorial Service will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 9, 2015, at Minnis Chapel, Stafford, with Roger Volker presiding. Contributions may be made to the Stafford County Hospital of P.L.A.Y. Parks Restoration Fund, in care of the chapel.
