Justine Gevedon,99,of Grassy Creek,Kentucky passed away Saturday in the Hospice Care Center, Hazard,Kentucky after a brief illness. Born April 10,1916 at Grassy Creek,Kentucky,a daughter of the late Estill and Dora Gevedon. She was a member of the Grassy Lick Baptist Church, Grassy Creek,Kentucky,and a homemaker. Besides her parents,her husband,Paul Gevedon,son-in-law, Tommy Henry, three sisters,Edra Laws,Genoa Peyton & Maurine Strietenberger,an infant sister,Audra Gevedon, a brother,Estill Gevedon Jr.,preceded her in death.
Surviving is four daughters,Frankie Barker(Darrell),Linda Tyra(Jim), Erma Gevedon(Kenny),and Alice Gevedon all of Grassy Creek,Ky. Two brothers,James Gevedon (Marie) of Knoxville,TN.,Harold Gevedon (Pauline) of Fairborn,Ohio. Eleven grandchildren, Twenty-five great-grandchildren and Twenty-two great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held March 1,2016 at 1:00pm,Tuesday at Herald & Stewart & Halsey Chapel with Bro.Rick Pelfrey officiating. Interment in the Grassy Lick Cemetery,Grassy Creek,Ky with her Great-Grandsons as Honorary Pallbearers,and her Grandsons and Grandson-in-law as the Active Pallbearers. Visitation will start 6:00pm,Monday at Herald & Stewart & Halsey Funeral Home,West Liberty,Ky,with Randy Halsey Funeral Director.
