....Mike died on the morning of February 20, 2016, at the age of 58 in a boating accident on Lake Conroe. He was born on October 28, 1957 in Big Spring, Texas to Kenneth Alvin and Barbara Jean Blackshear Conaway. He graduated from Baytown Sterling High School and later attended Abilene Christian University. Mike married Judy Murphy on January 27, 1996, in Magnolia, Texas. Last month they were blessed to celebrate their 20th Wedding anniversary. He wrote “Happy Anniversary to my beautiful wife. We made it 20 years and I love you even more today. Here’s to the next 20!
Mike had a passion for fishing. The time he spent on the water, whether serving as a tournament judge, or as a contestant, allowed him to live out his dream, and make money doing it!. Mike rodeoed in his early years, and later transitioned to announcing the Friday night rodeos. Mike was happiest when with his family.
He was an amazing Daddy and a proud Papa.
He is survived by his loving wife, Judy Conaway of Magnolia; 3 Daughters: Tara Hanson and husband, Daniel of Las Vegas, Brittany Conaway and fiancé, Brian Webb of Tomball; Lauren Conaway of Fort Worth. 5 grandchildren: Lainey Bass, Addison Webb, Brooklyn Chandler, Rylie Horton, Aydan Hanson; His Mother, Barbara Conaway of Spring; Siblings: Danny Conaway and wife, Sherry of Carrolton, Kerrie Schumacher and husband, Matt of Magnolia, Becky Maguire and husband, David of Round Rock. 9 children by love: Shellby Oliver, Rose Oliver, Abigail Oliver, Asa Oliver, Jason Oliver, Sadie Oliver, Hunter May, Jacob Clark, Wyatt Clark. Numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Mike was preceded in death by his Father, Kenneth Alvin Conaway; Grandparents Jake and Estelle Conaway, HC and Opal Blackshear; Father In Law Bobby Ray Murphy; Brother In Laws Kenneth Murphy and Martin “Bubba” Oliver...Burial will take place at 3:00 PM Thursday, February 25, 2016 ....
