They had nine children in 14 years. She died on November 21, 1864, in Grant City, Iowa, at the age of 51.He married Jane Hiatt 24 Oct 1830 in Henry Co., IN. She was a member of the Duck Creek Monthly Meeting (Quaker) in Henry Co., IA. Meeting notes read "Complained of, married contrary to Discipline, disowned 26 May 1831."

It could be they later divorced. Jane is still on census in 1860, although Abraham remarried in 1850.
