Gerald "Jerry" Irwin Key, CWO3 (Ret.), 81, passed away Friday, February 19, 2016.
Jerry was born April 23, 1941 in Lewis, Kansas to the late Harold (Shorty) Key and Ruby Mae (Rogers) Key.
Jerry served 23 years in the Navy. After his retirement from the Navy he worked for Grumman Aerospace on the F-14 Tomcat project and later for E Systems on Air Force One. In recent years Gerald's interest has been focused on current events and family.
Along with his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brother, James Key; and his brother-in-law, Raymond Reinhart.
He is survived by the love of his life, Virginia Sue (Reinhart) Key, his wife of 52 years; two daughters, Stephanie Lynne Diehl and husband Terry of Freeport, IL., and Anita Mae Crowley and husband Kevin of Wichita Falls, TX; his brother, Carl Key; sisters-in-law, Pam Key, and Marge Reinhart; two grandchildren, Jone Elizabeth (Crowley) Link of Georgia, and Roman Dean Key-Crowley and wife Emylee of San Antonio, TX; two great-grandchildren, Samantha and Kyle; and numerous nieces and nephews.
