Otine Myrtle Grobowsky Schaefer, 90, a 70 yearresident of New Braunfels passed away Sunday, September 3, 2006 at Autumn Winds Retirement Lodge in Schertz. Born March 2, 1916 at Creedmoor, TX to Otto & Frieda Voigt Grobowsky, she married Erno Hubert Schaefer in 1937 at First Protestant Church.
Survivors are son Douglas Schaefer and wife Cheryl of Schertz and daughter, Carolyn Wagner and husband Michael of New Braunfels, grandsons Russell & Scott Schaefer of Nevada, Chris Schaefer and wife Christine of Colorado, Michael Schaefer and wife Dawn of Cibolo and Dustin Vaughn Warncke and wife Meagan of Leander, six great-grandchildren, brother Ernest Joe Harber and wife JoAnn, sisters, Viola Boyd and Lucille Dyer and husband Jim, sister-in-law, Lola Belle Harber, all of San Antonio.
She was preceded in death by husband Erno, brothers William and Milton, sister Anita Haecker and husband Pete, brothers-in-laws Joe Semlinger & Benjamin Boyd, sisters-in-laws Ada Meckel and husband Frank, Ella Kraft and husband Rudolph, Lyda Schmidt and husband Bruno, brothers-in-laws Erhart Schaefer and wife Dora and Ervin Schaefer and wife Emma, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will begin at Doeppenschmidt Funeral Home on Thursday 8:00 a.m. until 9:00p.m. and Friday 8:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. with the family present at the Funeral Home to receive friends Friday 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 pm. The Funeral Service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Saturday September 9, 2006 at Doeppenschmidt Funeral Home with Rev. Christobel E. Hanz officiating. Interment will follow at Guadalupe Valley Memorial Park.
