Henry Lee was born about 1781 in Johnston County, North Carolina to the union of Lemuel/Samuel Lee and Ann Rains. He fought in the War of 1812 in the 2nd Regiment, Eighth Company, detached from the Johnston County Regiment (I believe). On 17 Jan 1815 he married Mary Coats. They had the following children: Sarah, Joseph Allen "Allen", Ransom, John "Jackie", Penney J, Aaron Thomas? and James. His date of death is unknown but in the 1860 U.S. Federal Census enumerated on 31 Aug 1860, his son James, age 22 (listed as Idiotic) was living with him in the Neuse River, Johnston County, NC area. I cannot locate him in any 1870 Census so he must have died between 01 Sep 1860-1870.
