Rod was born October 25, 1947, in Kirksville, to Martin and Bonnie Bailey.
He was married on September 2, 1972, to Susan (Carey) Bailey, of Brookfield.
Rod was a Navy veteran and served from 1966-1970. He was a frequent volunteer at Truman Medical Center.
He was employed as a truck driver at Churchill Truck Lines and Roadway Express as a delivery driver for several years. After retiring from Roadway, he worked as a courtesy car driver for University Subaru.
Rodney is survived by wife, Susan; daughter, Kelly; sons, Doug (Lori), Kent (Tara Jean), and Marty; granddaughters, Emily Bailey and Chelsea Champeau; grandsons, Skyler, Lake, Kyle, and Nikolas Bailey; sisters, Sharron (Larry) Quisenberry, Carolyn Bailey, and Janet Sue (Larry) Lauder; and very special aunt, Freda Greear.
A memorial services will be held at Heartland Cremation and Burial Society, Columbia.
The visitation will be held Saturday, Nov. 7, 2015, at 1 p.m. with services to follow at 2 p.m.
Burial will take place at a later date at Missouri State Veterans Cemetery, Jacksonville.
In lieu of flowers, donations should be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
