Louis "Red" Tate was born near Springfield, MO on Dec 17, 1926, 3rd of 7 childen to John Robert and Nuil (nee Jones) Tate. Siblings: Robert Jr., Dorothy, Cecil, Jesse, Norman, and Barbara. He passed away on February 11, 2003 after a brief battle with cancer. He is survived by his wife Alpha Mae (nee McClure) of the Fulgham, KY community, his three children; Louis Wayne Tate and wife, Lurinda; Linda Tomlinson and her husband, Donald, all of Kevil, KY; and Randy Tate and his wife, LeeAnn of Louisville. Also survived by six grandchildren; Aimee Tate Dingman & Judd Reno (Louis Wayne); Jason Winnans & Jeremy Winnans (Linda); Amberlee Tate & Kennon Tate (Randy). Louis's first wife, Louise, also survives.
A Navy veteran of the Japan Occupation & Korean War, he proudly served on the USS Helena CA75.
Also, "Red" was a career sheet metal worker, Local 36, and most proud of his work on the Gateway Arch, St. Louis, MO. Louis was never at a loss for words and never met a stranger.
