JACKSONVILLE NC - Carolyn Gay Marsh, 73, of Jacksonville, was surrounded by her loving family as she passed peacefully into the arms of her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, February 16, 2016. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 4:00 PM at Enon Chapel Baptist Church on Thursday, February 18 with Rev. Jim Kelley officiating. The family will inter her ashes with her late husband and best friend, Benjamin Allen Marsh, at the Coastal Carolina State Veterans Cemetery.

Mrs. Marsh retired as Director of the Enon Chapel Preschool after 38 years of dedicated service. She continued her passion of teaching children and mentoring teachers by volunteering at the Montessori Children’s School.

Survivors include her son, Benton Alan Marsh and his wife, Korene and their daughter, Karalyn who shares her birthday with her namesake; two daughters, Robin Marsh Simmons and her husband, Edward and their sons, Sam and Alex of Smithfield, VA and Trina Marsh Chytka of Smithfield, VA.

The family will receive friends Thursday afternoon, prior to the service, from 2:30 to 4:00 PM at the church.
