Son of James and Louisa (Fellows) Minetree, husband of Jane Eliza (Talley) Minetree. In Petersburg, on 1 Mar 1862, he enlisted in Co. E, 41st Va. Infantry, CSA and served throughout the war as a hospital steward. He was present at the surrender in Appomattox. (Information from cemetery, military, census and death records)
