Funeral services for Evelyn “Baby Sister” Bass will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 16, 2016, at Mount Pilgrim M. B. Church Freetown with the Rev. Dr. John Williams officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery under the direction of W. H. Jefferson Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 1 to 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home with the family present from 6 to 7 p.m.

Ms. Bass died Monday, Feb. 8, 2016, at her home. She was 72.

She was a 1961 graduate of Rosa A Temple High School and attended Jackson State University. She had worked at The Old Southern Tea Room, Mississippi Head Start Program, Sears, and the Oak Street Clinic. She was a member of the Mount Pilgrim M .B. Church for over 58 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents Sylvester and Ruby Lee Jackson Bass Sr.; brother, Sylvester Bass Jr.; sister Annie Marie Bass; and her daughter, Marsha Elizabeth McCalpin.

Survivors include three sons, Tony Bass of Dumfires, Va., Larry Bass of Vicksburg and Micheal Bass of Clinton; brother, George William Bass of Vicksburg; two sisters, Martha Warwick and Bobbie Bass, both of Vicksburg; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two nieces; five nephews; and other relatives and friends.
