GREENVILLE- Lloyd P. Ferland, 83, died peacefully February 14, 2016 at C. A. Dean Hospital in Greenville, following a short illness. He was born December 5, 1932 in Long Pond, ME to Phillip and Anne (Thibideau) Ferland.

He was predeceased by his wife of 59 years Natalie (Canders) Ferland. They met while working for Great Northern Paper at Pittston Farm. He was a Clerk and she was a Telephone Operator. He later went on to work for H & W Co. and Scott Paper Co. for most of his career.

He is survived by his son, Durward and wife, Patricia of Greenville; a daughter, Mary of Dover-Foxcroft; grandchildren, Durward Ferland Jr. of Portland, David Ferland and companion, Mia Boucher-Shaw of Greenville, Lisa Henderson of Greenville, and Kevin & Elizabeth Canders of Sicklerville, NJ; great grandchildren, Haley Ferland and her special sister, Madyson Ryder, Corey Henderson, Max and Ava Canders; sister, Beatrice Basel of Gainesville FL; sister in law, Bernice Canders of Greenville; and many special nieces, nephews, and their families.

He was predeceased by his stepson, Michael Canders; his parents; brothers, Wilfred and Andrew Ferland, sisters, Yvonne Kennedy, Stella Kennedy, Bertha Chagnon and Joann McKay.

He was a communicant of Holy Family Catholic Parish in Greenville, and served proudly on the church council for many years. He was a Fourth Degree Knight, of Columbus Moosehead Chapter.

He enjoyed foremost his family and friends, their visits, Saturday & Sunday meals with everyone, having his grandchildren around and his little buddy, Teddy Bear. His hobbies were gardening, hunting, and fishing.

A spring committal will be held at the family lot in the Greenville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to the Holy Family Catholic Church Building Fund, P. O. Box 457 Greenville, ME 04441. (Crosby & Neal Funeral Home Greenville and Bangor Daily News 2/15/2016)
