Florence was the daughter and 7th child of William W. Edinger and Rebecca Ware Foster. Her father was born in 1832 in Piqua, Ohio and her mother was born in 1835 in Pyrmont, Ohio.

On April 5, 1892 Florence married Theodore Victor Petersen in Kingsley, Plymouth, Iowa and had the following children:

Vera Laverne, b. 1893
Paul Victor, b. 1895
Clyde, b. c. 1897, died in infancy
Dorothy Rebecca, b. 1899
Roland F., b. 1901
Florence L., b. 1903
Theodore 'Ted' J., b. 1905 (twin)
Thyra Elizabeth, b. 1905 (twin)

Her husband's father (Fritz Wm) was born in Germany and his mother (Carolina 'Lena') was born in Denmark.

After her marriage, the family continued to live in Kingsley where she eventually passed away and was buried.

After her death, Theodore ended up in Los Angeles, California where he passed away 4 Sep 1953.
