Born at Taylor's Landing, he was the son of the late Charles E and Anna Catherine (Artz) Boyer. He was a retired railroad employee and was a member of the Locomotive Engineers and Fireman.
He is survived by a son, Ira Boyer, Cumberland; sister, Mrs. Harriet Showman, Fairplay; and a brother, Luther p Boyer, Baltimore.
The body was taken to the Bast Funeral Home, Boonsboro, where services will be held Saturday at 2:30 pm with the Rev Rowland Reichard officiating. Interment will be made in the Bakersville Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday and Friday evenings.
