This is my third great grandfather. He was born in Yorkshire, England and was the son of Francis Ward and Mary Bussy. He died in Oxford, Johnson, Iowa. He came to America in 1853 on the ship City of Manchester with his wife Mary (1810-1880), and his children James W. Ward (1840-1918), Mary B. Ward (1843-1934), Thomas Richard Ward (1846-1911), and Anna Bussy Ward (1850-1947). He was a farmer in England, but became a minister in the Methodist Church in America.
