Wolfgang Brey, 86, of 910 2nd N, died Saturday at his home. Funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at S. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church with burial in the Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be 7-9 p.m. today at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home and at the church from noon until service time Tuesday.
He is survived by his wife, Lydia, four stepsons, Lawrence Walden, Minneapolis; Jerome Walden, Jeffersonville, Ind.; Vernard and George Walden, New Ulm; step daughters, Mrs. Harold (Lorraine) Schewe, Long Mount, Colo; Mrs. James (Alice) Roberts, New Ulm; 21 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Ludwig (Kate) Schreiner, Gibbon. He was born Feb. 8, 1891, in Lafayette Township, Nicollet County, to Mr. and Mrs. Frank [Franz] Brey.
His first wife, Freda Schaeffler Brey died. He then married Lydia Hoppe Oct. 9, 1952, at St. Paul’s. He farmed in Lafayette Township and later worked in the hatchery in Lafayette and at Sunnyslope in New Ulm and at Roeder’s Hatchery, Brey retired in 1964. He was a World War I veteran
