Buck April 23, 1861, and fathered Samuel Jacob Lincoln (b. 07/05/62), Ellen Rebecca (b. 08/18/66 - married John Jessie Radcliffe), William Harrison (b. 02/27/68), Mary Lavanda (b. 09/26/70), and John Franklin (b. 04/13/72).
A Civil War veteran, he enlisted at the stated age of twenty-two in Harrisburg October 8, 1862, and mustered into federal service there October 29 as a private with Co. L, 16th Pennsylvania Cavalry (161st Pennsylvania). Promoted to corporal June 1, 1865, he honorably discharged with his company July 24, 1865.
