Andrew was born 1890 in Post Falls, Idaho. Bounded by Coeur d’Alene to the east, the state of Washington to the west, the Spokane River to the south and the Rathdrum prairie to the north, Post Falls is the western gateway to Idaho for travelers along Interstate 90.

1916 Canada Census, Prince Albert, Saskatchewan. Andrew (now calling himself Charlie, which he did for most of his life) and Cora living in Rosthern, Saskatchewan. He lists himself as a farmer.

1921 Canada Census, Stavely Alberta Andrew with his wife, and his father and relations living next door.

The 1926 Canada Census has Charlie, his wife Matilda and son George Earl living in Stavely, Alberta. Charlie was working for the Canadian Pacific Railway as a rail hand. Later Charlie and his wife Stella moved to Calgary and lived there until moving to Vancouver.
