Annie Allen was murdered by her husband Joshua Bell who she refused to live with. She had just came to the town of Phoenix. He stabbed her in the chest. He was hung for her murder on January 13, 1905 in Kamloops, B.C.. Annie had a 4 year old child. Her murderer had recently been released from prison in Deer Lodge, Montana. He had shot a soldier and was charged with assault.

"The funeral of the Allen women took place Sunday afternoon from the undertaking rooms of Clark & Binns. As it passed the jail, on the way to the city cemetery, Bell was allowed to see the funeral procession....
