Luman E. Barlow, 76 yer old resident of Eureka, died Tuesday evening at his home at 935 C Street. He was born January 20, 1879, at Evergreen, Alabama. Before coming to Humboldt County in 1908, he resided in Mexico. Until his retirement four years ago, he had been engaged in mill construction work and was employed as a millwright.
He is survived by a son, Kenneth M. Barlow, Rohnerville; a daughter, Mrs. Alice M. Mortensen, Scotia; two brothers, Will and Charles Barlow; a sister, Mrs. Congelton, all residing in Alabama; the following grandchildren: Gary, John, Sandra, and Kenneth Glen Barlow, Rohnerville; James V. Mortensen of Phoenix, Arizona; Mrs. Helen Campbell of Rohnerville; one great-grandson, James V. Mortensen Jr., of Grizzly Bluff.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday afternoon at 1:30 p.m. in the chape of Goble's Fortuna Mortuary with Rev. V. Reeves officiating. Interment will follow in the family plot in Ocean View Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Gary Barlow, Willard Gardner, Clarence Campbell, Alvin Mortensen, Vernon Holmes and Jim Campbell.
