Lori Jean Zimmer, age 61 years of Reese, died unexpectedly Monday, February 8, 2016 at her home. She was born on August 25, 1954 in Saginaw, daughter of the late Kenneth E. and Evelyn J. (Osgerby) Buchinger. Lori attended Trinity Lutheran Church and School and graduated from Reese High School. She had an Associate’s Degree in Business from the Saginaw Business College and married the love of her life, Kendall Zimmer on July 28, 1973 in Reese. She was a lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church and was very active in Bible studies and other women study groups associated with the church. Surviving in addition to her husband Ken of 42 years, are her children, Dan (Heather) Zimmer of Dundee, Dennis Zimmer of Freeland, Karen (Doug) Cole of Frankenmuth; her grandchildren that she absolutely loved and adored, Katie, Noah, Braylon, Hannah and Ava; brother, Tom Buchinger of Atlanta, MI; sister, Carol (Larry) Finner of Lansing and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, a brother William Buchinger preceded her in death. Funeral services will take place at 11:00 a.m., Friday, February 12, 2016 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Reese. Pastor Daniel Burhop will officiate with burial in Denmark Township Cemetery. Lori’s family will receive friends at the Ware-Smith-Woolever Funeral Home, 9940 Saginaw Street, Reese on Thursday, from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. and at the church on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
