Note: Though George Koenig's newspaper obituary and headstone list his date of birth as Oct. 14, 1866, various census records (1880, 1910, 1930 & 1940) indicate he was born in 1868. Their headstones indicate that brothers Helmuth Carl "H.C." Koenig (April 1, 1866) and George Koenig (October 14, 1866) were born six months apart. One of the headstones is incorrect and it appears to be that of George Koenig.

The following appeared on page 1 of The Marshfield (WI) News on Thursday, November 22, 1894: "Geo. Koenig of this city was married to Miss Katie Henseler, of Bakerville, on Tuesday (November 20) at the Catholic church in Bakerville, Rev. Daniels officiating."
