OBITUARY is transcribed in honor of Cynthia and in deepest sympathy for her family.

Cynthia L. "Cyndee" Hansen, age 63, of Starkweather, North Dakota, passed away early Sunday morning, February 7, 2016 at Altru Hospital, Grand Forks, North Dakota.

Cynthia Louise, daughter of Nick and Donna (Alexander) Streifel was born on July 20, 1952 in Minot, ND. At a young age she moved with her family to Devils Lake and attended St. Joseph School. Cyndee graduated from Devils Lake High School with the class of 1970 and continued her education at Lake Region Junior College.

Cyndee was united in marriage to Allan Hansen on Nov. 15, 1975 at St. Joseph Church in Devils Lake. They established their home on the farm at Starkweather. Cyndee had worked at a variety of jobs before her marriage and she continued working after marriage. She loved being busy and being around people.

Cyndee worked for several years at Lake Region Corp. and Wal-Mart. She also got very involved in the Starkweather School as a Cheer Coach, Bus Driver and also cooked there for many years. She worked at the Starkweather Post Office and for the past 7 years and at the time of her death, she was employed at the Good Samaritan Center as Supervisor in the laundry Dept. Cyndee frequently worked more than one job at a time. She had such a kind, caring and generous heart and she worked to just make life a little brighter for anyone in her care and to help provide for her family. She was so proud of her children and the grandchildren brought her so much joy and were the center of her life.

When she did take a break from work, Cyndee enjoyed gardening, puzzles, sewing, BONKO and was an avid reader. She enjoyed membership in the Starkweather Booster Club and was a great supporter of the local Relay for Life, but time with family was always at the top of the list. She loved being able to watch her grandchildren participating in basketball and other sporting events. We can't imagine our lives without Cyndee but she will remain in our hearts and memories forever.

Cyndee is survived by her husband Allan; daughter Cara (Kevin) Thompson; sons Jeb, Caleb and Seth; mother Donna Streifel; brothers and sisters Kerry, Cordell, Laurie and Jason.

She was preceded in death by her father Nick; father-in-law and mother-in-law Emil and Mabel Hansen and brothers-in-law John Walski and Robert Cady.

Mass of the Resurrection will be held on Friday, February 12, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Devils Lake, ND with Father Charles Leute O.P. celebrating the Mass.
