McAllen - Carlos Muñoz, 72, passed away Saturday, February 6, 2016 after a short but brave battle with cancer. He is preceded in death by his wife: Maria Peña Muñoz in 2005; his parents: Cosme Muñoz, Sr. and Mary I. Diaz; sisters: Mary Williams, Rose Mary Marez and Isabel Vallejo.
He served in the US Air Force for five years and was a SGT when he was discharged in 1970.
He is survived by two brothers: Cosme Muñoz, Jr. of San Juan and Isaac Muñoz of McAllen; two sisters: Yolanda Marez of McAllen and Janie Galvan of Santa Fe, TX; special niece: Melissa Flores of Pharr; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 1:00 pm to 9:00 pm Tuesday, February 9, 2016 with a prayer service at 7:00 pm at Rivera Funeral Home of McAllen. A Chapel Service will be held at 9:00 am Wednesday, February 10, 2016 at Rivera Funeral Home of McAllen. Interment will follow at 11:00 am at Rio Grande Valley State Veterans Cemetery in Mission. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Rivera Funeral Home of McAllen.
