Charlotte and Richard were married in Morrison County, Minnesota in 1869, both age 21. They had eight children - three boys and five girls over a 26 year period.

From the Little Falls Daily Tribune, December 30, 1896, "Death of R.L. Lambert" (Editor: The initials are incorrect and shoud be "R.J." This is important so as not to confuse our Richard J. Lambert, born 1848, with his first cousin, Uncle James' son, Richard Lloyd Lambert, born in 1846, and also living in Morrison County.):

"His demise occurred Tuesday evening after a long illness. Richard L. (sic, J.) Lambert, aged 48 years and 11 months, died at his home near the Little Elk mills at 7 o'clock Tuesday evening from pneumonia. Mr. Lambert had been confined to his house for over two months with rheumatism, but was able to be around, and was not considered dangerous until last Wednesday. At that time he was attacked with pneumonia and grew worse steadily, until death ended his sufferings Tuesday evening.

Mr. Lambert was an honest, hard-working man, and was respected by all who knew him. The deceased leaves a widow, eight children - three sons and five daughters, and one brother and two sisters, besides many other relatives, who will deeply mourn his demse. His children all reside in this city, as does also his brother, C.H. Lambert. His sister, Mrs. Calhoun Hayes, formerly a resident of this place, now lives at Glenville, W. Va. His other sister, Mrs. Chas. Thompson, lives at Tacoma, Washington.

The deceased was born in Maine and removed to Minnesota with his parents in 1855. His father settled on a farm in Bellevue Township, and later removed to Bismark, N.D., where he died. Richard L. (sic, J.) Lambert has resided continuously in Morrison County since his arrival here as a small boy, and during his residence of over forty years here, he has made friends of all his acquaintances.

The funeral will be held from the residence in this city at 2 o'clock Friday afternoon, and the remains will be buried in Oakwood Cemetery."

After Richard died in 1896, there is no record that Lottie remarried. Surely her older sons and other Lambert relatives helped support her and her four minor children.

"Lottie" lived to only age 61, surviving her husband by just a dozen years. Charlotte and Richard are buried in the Oakland Cemetery in Little Falls, Minnesota.
