He was retired from a long career in industrial construction. Alton Jay had a great talent and passion for music and was a member of Green Grove Church. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Survivors are his wife Betty Martin Forrest whom he married February 8, 1984. One daughter Sharon Raines of Texarkana, AR. One step son Gerald Johnson (Kristian) of Monroe, LA. One step daughter Becki Hooks (Russell) of Williston, N.D. Three grandchildren Shawn, Misty and Amanda Poe. 3 step grandchildren Jeremiah, Hope and Tripp Johnson.
Funeral service 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, February 10, at Frazer’s Chapel. Burial in Outlaw Cemetery at Sumpter, AR, by Frazer’s Funeral Home. Visitation is 6-8 p.m. Tuesday February 9, at Frazer’s.
