He was valdictorian of his class at Clyattville High School. He graduated from University of Georgia with a bachelor degree in Education and taught high school English at Clayton ,Ga. in Rabun County. He then went to work for Atlantic Steel Co. in Atlanta, Ga. and Birmingham, Ala.
He also attended Georgia State University in Atlanta and received a Masters Degree in Accounting.
He moved back to his home in Lowndes County, Ga. in the early 1980's.
Harold never married.
He had a green thumb and grew beautiful roses in his yard.He loved doing crossword puzzles, all kinds of music and keeping up with world affairs.
He is survived by two sisters and a brother and many nieces and nephews.
He was buried in Dasher cemetery, Lowndes County, Ga. with his grandparents, his parents, his baby brother and his niece Debbie Barwick.
