James G. Denny was the son of Walter W. & Sarah (Sally) Vinyard Denny. He married Eliza Sackett May 22, 1842, Madison Co., IL. They lived many years in Savanna Twp, Carroll Co, IL. To this union ten children were born, 7 of their children were Sarah E.Bennett, Julia Amanda Bennett, Andrew Jackson, Susan Marie Bennett, Emma Jane Page, Martha E. Jerman, Mary Crowl/Coleman, were born in Illinois. Percie Hardenbrook/Chaussee, their youngest, was born in Iowa. Eliza Sackett Denny was born Aug. 30, 1826 and died Sep. 19, 1926, at the age of 100 years 22 days, she is buried in Siloam Spring, Benton Co., AR.
