Marvin A. (Buddy) Cage beloved husband, father, and friend of many, passed away on Friday, October 13, 2006. Mr. Cage was born on July 28, 1918 to Marvin A. Cage and Dora Bell Cage in Bishop, Texas, where he spent his youth.

He attended Texas A&I University in Kingsville, where he majored in business. Mr. Cage served his country in the U.S. Navy during WWII. Mr. Cage married his beloved wife, Estella Mae Purcell, in 1947. He was the Chief Deputy Appraiser of Corpus Christi and was later promoted to Tax Assessor Collector. In 1952 he established Cage Tax Appraisal Service, which later became Coastal Tax Consultants. He was an avid hunter and spent many years with family pursuing this pleasure.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Estella Mae Cage; his brothers, Gus and Carroll Cage; brother-in-law, Charles Steen; and great-nephew, Travis Cage.

He is survived by his son of Corpus Christi, Texas; sister, Mildred Steen; niece; nephew of Corpus Christi, Texas; sister-in-law, Margaret Cage of Cuero, Texas; nephews of Houston, Texas, sister-in-law Patty Cage; nephews of Corpus Christi, Texas, and of Frisco, Texas.

Pallbearers will be nephews.

The family wishes to thank the staff of Garden Estates for all of their kind attention.

Visitation will be on Sunday, October 15, 2006 at Seaside Funeral Home. A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, October 16, 2006 at Seaside Funeral Home Chapel with private entombment to follow at Seaside Memorial Park.
