Frances Reid Clow to Become Bride of Ensign Bowers Today
An event of interest in Lake Forest that will keep friends of the Kent S. Clows in town for the early part of the Labor day weekend at least is the marriage today of their pretty young daughter, Frances Reid Clow, and Ensign Lloyd Thomas Bowers. The bride is a granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. William E Clow of Lake Forest. Ensign Bowers is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Wilson Bowers of New York.
Visiting friends and relatives of the young pair are filling Lake Forest houses to overflowing. Mr. and Mrs. Bowers are here, and as are Mr. and Mrs. Bowers Jr. of Pittsburgh, the Randolph Masons of New York, Mrs. Clow's sister, Mrs. Harrison Habiliizeilte, and Mr. Habilizeite and their son, George, of Philadelphia and Mrs. Bowers' brother, Arthur Heilen of Washington, D.C. The bride's maternal grandparents are the late Mr. and Mrs. Breckinridge Jones of St. Louis.
Miss Ellen bowers, sister of the bridegroom, is to be themaid of honor, and the bride's sister, Mrs W. Burke Williamsonson (Elise Hamill Clow), has come from California to be the matron of honor. Miss Shirley Hopkins, Miss Diana Hill, Miss Sally Robbins, Miss Mary Carnella Aldie, and Miss Dudley Winston are the bridesmaids.
Ensign Bowers, who is teaching at the naval reserve training school at Northwestern university, has obtained a leave so that he and his bride may have a wedding trip before returning to their Lake Forest house. Mr. and Mrs. Donald Douglas are giving a luncheon party today for the out of town guests and the wedding attendants. The wedding will take place at 5 o'clock in the First Presbyterian church, Lake Forest, with the Rev. W. Oliver Brackett officiating. A reception will follow at the Clow home.
