FORMER CARTHAGE WOMAN
DIES IN DAVENPORT, IOWA

Carthage, Ill., May 9. -- Mrs. Susan A. Carlton Davis died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Charles E. Booth in Davenport, Iowa, Sunday evening, May 7. She was about 81 years old and the widow of John T. Davis, who died about eight years ago. They were residents of Carthage for many years.

She was the daughter of George W. and Miranda Carlton. Three children preceded the mother in death and the remaining ones are Mrs. Charles E. Booth of Davenport, Iowa, and Mrs. Thomas Callihan of this city. She also leaves one sister, Mrs. T. W. Davis of this city, and three half brothers, William, Robert and Richard Carlton of this city, and three half sisters, Mrs. Minnie Starkey of Carthage, Mrs. Alice McCrellis of Aurora, Mo., and Mrs. Lydia McCreary of Monette, Mo.

The body was brought to Carthage Monday evening, and the funeral will be held Tuesday evening at 4 o'clock at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Thomas Callihan, services conducted by Rev. W. W. Bollinger, pastor of the Methodist church, this city. Interment in Moss Ridge cemetery.

Carthage, Illinois, May 9 -- Mrs. John Tyler Davis, aged 82, died Sunday, May 7, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Charles Booth, in Davenport Iowa, and funeral services will be held at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Tom Callihan, in Carthage at 4 o'clock, Tuesday afternoon.

Reverend W. W. Bollinger of the M. E. church, of which she was a lifelong member, will conduct the service. BUrial will be made at Moss Ridge.

Besides her two daughters and their families, Mrs. Davis leaves one sister, Mrs. Margaret Davis, of Carthage, three half-brothers, and three half-sisters: Robert, William and Richard and Mrs. Minnie Starkey, all of Carthage; and Mrs. Lyde McQuary and Mrs. McCrellis of Missouri.
