Edith Katherine Frazier of Leon, OK was born January 30, 1920 at Carnegie, OK, the eldest daughter of Melton Monroe and Edith Bessie Moore. Katherine journeyed to the arms of Jesus Tuesday, April 25, 2017 at the Lake Country Nursing Center in Marietta at the age of 97.

Katherine had been a resident of Leon since 1947. On October 30, 1944, she married Robert “Adroian” Frazier in Gainesville, TX.

Katherine was a homemaker and member of Oklahoma Home, Community & Education (OHCE) for over 70 years. She liked to garden and care for her animals. Katherine was also known for her canning, sewing, and quilting. She was a member of the Love County Quilt Guild, was Ladies Sunday School teacher, Fair Superintendent and Entry Clerk, Assistant Secretary for the Love County Fair Board, on the Love County Fair Board for more than 40 years, Treasurer for the Leon Community Building for over 18 years, and a member of the RSVP Community Services. Katherine, a dedicated member of the Leon Baptist Church for over 67 years, was currently a member of the Jimtown Baptist Church.

Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Adroian; daughter, Edith “Faye” Blood and her husband, David; grandson, Harlen Cannon; granddaughter, Kathy Marlena Cannon; daughter-in-law, Patricia “Pat” Thompson; sister, Lois Murr; three brothers, Jack, Leroy, and Raymond Moore; and sister-in-law, Wanda Frazier.

She is survived by a son, George Monroe Thompson of Pilot Point, TX; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; four sisters, Dorothy Murr and husband John of Muskogee, OK, Laura Ruth Horton of Tulsa, OK, Cora Lee Kamenerdiener of Longview, TX, and Virginia Ann Roper of Burneyville, OK; brother, David Moore and wife Ruth, also of Tulsa; sister-in-law, Linda Hood of Krum, TX; two brothers-in-law, Mack Looney Frazier and Jimmie Frazier and wife Charlene, all of Leon.

Carrying Katherine to where she awaits to be reunited with the Lord are Larry Hicks, Wayland Brown, Joel Hicks, Mike Mayes, Larry Taliaferro, and Mickey Locke. Honorary bearers are Jack Brintle, Dennis Frazier, Mack Frazier, Jimmie Frazier, Raymond Self, Mike Cox, and Kenneth W. Brown.

Katherine will be laid to rest next to her late husband Adroian in the Leon Cemetery following the services.
