Born in Grapevine on May 23, 1935, Wade was a son of Wade Howard, Sr. and Nell Baker Howard.
He lived and worked most of his 80 years in Grapevine, graduating from Grapevine High School in 1953.
He married Pat Hall on March 8, 1958. They lived in Irving, San Antonio, and Atlanta, Ga. in the early years of their marriage, but Jack (known by everyone in Grapevine) always returned to Grapevine. He once said he needed to see the Grapevine Water Tower to feel at home.
Wade loved to travel, give parties in the home in Grapevine he and his wife built in 1966, collect antiques and enjoy life. He was a 40 year member of the NIA, National Insulator Association, a member of American Legion Post 379, Bedford until 2012, and a member of the Runway Theatre in Grapevine for 10 years. Wade has been a member of the First Baptist Church in Grapevine since his youth.
Wade served in the U.S. Army from 1955-1957 before he began his career in trucking. In 1983, he picked up a hammer, strapped a ladder to an old Chrysler and started his own business, "Rebuilding by Howard". He loved being his own boss in a successful business until a major stroke in 2003.
