NORDLUND, Roland Lew

Born in Mexico, MO, Sept. 26, 1935, to Marvin and Madge Nordlund. He graduated Mexico High School, 1953. He married his high school sweet-heart, Beverly Ann James.

He served in the U.S. Army, then relocated to Florida, settling in Delray Beach to raise his family and own and manage Coastal Gas Co. He sold his company to start Tallahassee Auto Parts with his son. He eventually went back to the gas business, retiring from Hillsboro Gas Co. In Tampa. He spent the last decade in Crystal River, where he attended the Crystal River United Methodist Church and volunteered in the UMC food pantry.He was an excellent mechanic and enjoyed fishing and camping.

He is survived by his wife, Beverly James Nordlund; son, Kevin; daughter, Cheryl Schisler; siblings, Joan Shannon of Tampa, Stan Nordlund of Englewood, Janet Williams of Paris, MO; and four grandchildren, Kristi Leigh Nordlund, Eric Russell Nordlund, Tim Ray Schisler Jr., and Matthew James Schisler. After 80 wonderful years, and 59 years of marriage, he passed peacefully in his sleep Nov. 18, 2015.
