Ethelyn M. Tallent, 60, of 7718 Creager Road, widow of Hunley B. Tallent, died at 2:30 p.m. Thursday in the Waynesboro Hospital. She had been critically ill since she was admitted to the hospital on Jan. 28. Mrs. Tallent was born in Waynesboro on June 24, 1920, a daughter of the late Oscar and Ida (Maun) Naugle. She lived all her life in the Waynesboro area, and she was a graduate of the Waynesboro High School with the Class of 1938. She and her husband were married in October, 1944, and moved to the present residence in 1970. For several years, Mrs. Tallent worked at Freeman Shoe Co. For the past five years, she was employed at the Fairfield Shoe Factory. Her husband died in September, 1971.
Mrs. Tallent was a member of the Fairview Chapel. She is survived by five children Gordon Tallent, Waynesboro; Mrs. Emily Lesher and Mrs. R. Eugene Bakner, Jr., both of Rouzerville; Lawrence Tallent, Chambersburg, and James Tallent, Richmond, Va. Also surviving are six grandchildren and a brother and four sisters, Lloyd Naugle, Chambersburg; Mrs. Miriam Nace, Hanover; Mrs. Rebecca Hoover, Waynesboro; Mrs. Francelia Fields, Shirley, Ind., and Mrs. Lucille Edwards, Dallas, Texas.

Services will be held Sunday at 3:30 p.m. in the Grove Funeral Home in charge of the Rev. Dale Martin. Burial will be in Green Hill Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday.
