FALL IS FATAL TO LINEMAN AT GEORGETOWN
Georgetown, Ky, Sept. 25 (LNS) -- Benton F. Cross, 56, Louisville, a lineman for the Shely Construction Company, was injured fatally Friday when he fell from a utility pole on the Paris Pike near the Georgetown city limits.
A stepdaughter, Mrs. Lorena Mattingly of Louisville, said Cross suffered from a broken neck while working on a construction project, but said she had no further details of the accident. Scott County Coroner Jack B. Tucker, said he was not called to investigate, but said he would hold an inquest today.
Cross had been employed by the Shely firm about 10 weeks. Before that he had been a lineman at Fort Knox for 11 years.
Services will be conducted at 2pm Monday at the Ratterman Brothers Funeral home at Louisville and burial will be in the Resthaven Cemetery.

Market St. Funeral services will be conducted Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Interment in Resthaven Memorial Park.
