Lillian Jean Rice, 71, of Dillsburg, and formerly of Tuscarora, Juniata County, passed away at 10:31 a.m. Friday, Jan. 29, 2016, at Vibra Life Nursing Home, Mechanicsburg.
Born July 1, 1944, in Redbank, N.J., she was the daughter of the late Michael J. and Lillian (Curtis) Comerford.
Her husband, H. Shelley Rice Sr., preceded her in death, on May 17, 2002.
Surviving are: two daughters and two sons, Lillian J. Gill and husband Rodney, of Dillsburg, Sherryann Rice, of Lebanon, Homer S. Rice Jr., of McAlisterville, and Mitchell S. Rice Sr. and wife, Rebecca, of Milroy; eight grandchildren; and six greatgrandchildren.
The last of her family, Jean was preceded in death by a son, Michael C. Rice on July 10, 1989, and also by one brother and three sisters.
She was a former employee of Empire Kosher Poultry Inc., in Mifflintown.
Her funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 4, 2016, at Rex Funeral Home, Port Royal, with Pastor Brian D. Percy officiating.
Interment will follow at New Church Hill Cemetery, Port Royal.
A viewing will be held from 1 p.m. until the time of service Thursday at the funeral home.
