Ethel French was born on a farm east of this city in 1877. She was the daughter of Judge and Mrs. D. A. French and resided with her parents until the year 1896, when she was married to Harry Gilbert, who with three children, Clark, Margaret and Irene, survives.
She was a devoted wife and a kind and loving mother. Her friends were numbered by the score, whom she had won by her sweet disposition. She was a member of the Bethel Church and was a devoted Christian.
Funeral Monday morning at 10 o'clock from Bethel Church, Rev. Carpenter conducting the services. Burial in Edgewood Cemetery." The Chillicothe Constitution, February 17, 1908
