James C. Campbell, the son of John "Duke" Campbell and Margaret Lockie, was born 1 Mar 1820 probably in Selkirk, Scotland. He emigrated to Dumfries, Waterloo Co., Ontario with his family in 1825.
He was first married to Margaret Batters and second to Euphemia Kerr on 7 Mar 1877 in Galt (Cambridge), Waterloo Co., Ontario.
