Lucinda, my great grand aunt, is pictured beside her brother, William Clary Brown, during her visit to Gainesville, TX, and in another photo, taken in Tulsa OK, standing beside the grave of her husband. She is the daughter of my gg grandparents Joseph Redding Brown and Mary Ann Clary. Joseph and family first lived in Madison County and Marshall County AL where he was a tailor. About 1851 the family moved to Bedford County TN where Joseph farmed and operated a sawmill. Lucinda was named for her aunt Lucy Caroline Clary Little. She had five brothers, William, John, James, Thomas, and Joseph and a sister, Nancy Jane. She married John Houston Parker on 21 June 1866 in Bedford County TN. Lucinda is buried beside her husband.

Mrs. Lucinda C. Parker, 84, residing at Tulsa, died Wednesday at the home of her nephew, J. E. Parker, 711 W. 18th. Survivors, three sons, Will, Jim and Emmett Parker; and two daughters, Mrs. Nanny Roberts and Mrs. Rice Ormand, all of Tulsa. Arrangements later by the Hahns.

FUNERAL TODAY FOR MRS. PARKER
Services Will Be Conducted From Boston Avenue Methodist Church
Funeral services for Mrs. Lucinda C. Parker , 84 years old, of Tulsa, died in Oklahoma City while visiting at the home of her nephew, James Parker, will be held at the Boston Avenue Methodist church at 2:30 p. m. Friday, with the Rev. C. M. Reves, pastor, officiating. Burial willl be in Oaklawn cemetery, in charge of the Martin Fleming funeral home.

Mrs. Parker was born in Marshall county, Alabama in 1845, and had been a resident of Tulsa 30 years. Her husband, J. H. Parker, a Confederate veteran, died in 1917, and the widow was making her home at the home of a daughter, Mrs. U. A. Orman of 1428 East Third street. She was a life member of the Daughters of the Confederacy, and was known by numerous friends as "Grandma Parker". Her death occurred Wednesday.

Surviving is another daughter, Mrs. E. L. Roher, and three sons, W.S., J. L. and E. F. Parker, all of Tulsa; three brothers, W. C. Brown of Gainesville, Texas; J. P. Brown, Charleston, Miss., and T. D. Brown of Gonzales, Texas; 35 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
