Pauline Hoback Nielsen died at BroMenn Regional Medical Center, Normal, Illinois on January 9, 1993.

She was born on May 9, 1918 in Toledo, Illinois, daughter of Charles "Pete" and Susie Stanza Gaines.

She married John Hoback on March 4, 1934 in Charleston, Illinois. He died on October 1, 1976.

She later married Glen Nielsen who died on November 7, 1990.

Surviving are two sons Charles P. Hoback of Normal, Illinois; and Kenneth H. Hoback of Groveland, Illinois; four daughters, Lois Eichelberger of Mattoon, Illinois; Marilyn Heber of Hadley, New York; Phyllis "Sue" Houston of Anchor, Illinois; and Pauline Kent of Altamont, Illinois; 26 grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren.

Two sons, one daughter, and one great-grandchild preceded her in death.

She was a chef and cook in the Bloomington-Normal area for more than 30 years.

She was a member of the Christian Church.
