Justin Hop Slemp,age 77 passed away on Tuesday, January 26, 2016 at his home. Hop was a well known farmer, loving father and papaw who will be dearly missed. He was born and raised in Lee County and graduated from Dryden High School in 1957. He served on the Lee County Farm Bureau for 41 years, supporting farmers and their legislative issues. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ora David and Bertha Jamie Babb Slemp. Sisters; Bleeka Gaye Slemp Sproles, Marcia Jane Slemp Bartholomew, brothers; Virgil Kyle Slemp, Ora Donald Slemp, Iran Keith Slemp.
Survivors include; wife of 54 years, Anna Ely Slemp, children; Lora Slemp Woods and husband Lee, daughter, Brittany Ann Woods of Dryden, VA, Kevin Slemp and wife Cindy, daughter, Chelsey Slemp Jones and husband Jared of North Charleston, SC, Sister, Rita Merle Slemp Edwards of Stickleyville, VA. 13 nieces, 14 nephews and many special friends.
Interment will follow in Powell Valley Cemetery in Dryden, VA.
