Mrs. Carl J. (Dora) Tawes of Richardson Avenue, Crisfield, died Saturday in the Eastern Shore State Hospital, Cambridge, following a brief illness. She was 73 years of age.
A native of Crisfield her parents were the late Jesse D. and Rachael Ward Evans. Her husband was the late Carl J. Tawes, who died in 1942.
She was a member of the Immanuel Methodist Church.
She leaves a granddaughter, Miss Tamara Tawes of Crisfield, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Monday at 2 p. m. in the Bradshaw and sons Funeral Home here. The Rev. E. W. Cursey, pastor of Immanuel Church, officiated, assisted by Rev. Walter L. Beckwith, pastor of Asbury Methodist Church.
Burial was in Crisfield Cemetery.
Bearers were Sol Nelson, Charles Freddy Smith, Robert Lee Tawes, Clinton Dize, Norman Adams and Edward Tawes.
