Deceased Name: Lorraine Evelyn Trosky
Lorraine Evelyn Trosky, 88, of Heritage Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, died there Sat., Dec. 9, 2000, after a lingering illness. Services: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, St. Jude's Catholic Church, by the Rev. Eugene Kutsch. Burial: St. Michael's Cemetery, Norway. A vigil will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Teahen Funeral Home, where friends may call from 3 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and 9 to 10 a.m. Wednesday.

Lorraine is survived by three sons, Hal Trosky Jr. of Shueyville, James (Mary Jeanne) Trosky of McHenry, Ill., and Lynn A. Trosky of Carmel, Calif.; a daughter, Mary Kay Mattiace of Cedar Rapids; two brothers, David Glenn of Opopka, Fla., and George (Virginia) Glenn of Cherokee Village, Ark.; 23 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Lorraine was preceded in death by a sister, her husband, three grandchildren and a great-grandchild.

Lorraine Glenn was born April 20, 1912, in Norway, to Dr. James and Viola James Glenn. She graduated from Mercy Hospital School of Nursing in 1932 and was married to Harold (Hal) A. Trosky on Nov. 15, 1933. He died in 1979. Lorraine was a resident of Cedar Rapids for 55 years. She was a member of St. Jude's Catholic Church, Legion of Mary and Mercy Hospital School of Nursing Alumni Association.

Lorraine was involved in many activities with St. Jude parish. She was a part of several prayer groups, ministered to many nursing home residents over many years and for years served as a volunteer at Mercy Medical Center.

Lorraine's life was truly dedicated to others, first and foremost to her family and then to countless others.

She was so loved by all who knew her and gave unconditional love and care in return.

This past year she was a resident of the Heritage Nursing and Rehabilitation Center and was respectfully cared for by the staff. The previous four years she resided at Evergreen Estates I and enjoyed the loving care of their personable staff.

The family is very grateful for the dignified care provided by the staff at each facility.
