Norman and Phebe moved from Attica to the Arkwright Hills of Chautauqua County, New York about 1834 where they settled and farmed for about thirty-three years. They were long-term members of the Baptist Church in Cassadaga, NY. During 1869 they had a new house built on Cushing Street in Fredonia. During that year a smallpox epidemic swept through the area and both Norman and Phebe were affected. They passed away only eleven days apart.

At the top of the list of their children should be added: William D., born Jan 11, 1833 at Attica, Wyoming Co., New York.

The remaining eight children were all born at Arkwright, Chautauqua Co., New York. Note that sons Austin and Henry are listed twice. The listings with a period (.) will link the reader to their hometown memorial in Fredonia's Forest Hill Cemetery. The other will link the reader to their Civil War military memorial at the place where they are buried.
