Funeral services for Mitchell Jones, 61, of Fort Necessity will be 2 pm Saturday, January 23, 2016, at Apostolic Faith Chapel with Bishop Virgil Harris, Rev. James Harris, Rev. Curtis Harris and Rev. Hurby Hitt officiating. Interment will follow in Garden of Memories Cemetery, Jigger, under the direction of Gill First National Funeral Home. Visitation will be 5 pm until Friday, January 22, 2016, at the church.
Mitchell was born August 20, 1954, in Winnsboro and passed from this life on January 20, 2016, at Glenwood Regional Medical Center in West Monroe.
He was a member of Apostolic Faith Chapel, Gilbert.
Mitchell is preceded in death by his father, J. C. "Ike" Jones; his step father O. D. "Papa D" Provance; and mother-in-law Allie "Netter" Carroll.
Survivors include his wife of 38 years Betty Jones, of Fort Necessity; son Jonathan Jones of Fort Necessity; grandson Brendan Jones of Crowville; mother Opal Provance of Jigger; brothers: Michael Jones and wife Jean of Jigger, Jamie Jones and wife Vernia of Fort Necessity, Dewayne Jones and wife Jean of Fort Necessity, Mark Jones of Vicksburg, MS; sister-in-law Vikki Welch and husband Malcolm of Baskin; brother-in-law Darrel Carroll and wife Becky of Fort Necessity; a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be Sean Hendry, Tommy Hendry, Jr., Brady Jones, D. J. Jones, Joey Nielsen, and John Wilson.
