EDNA FAYE MASON GARNER HAZEL

Edna Faye Mason Garner Hazel, age 93, longtime Mustang resident, died Wednesday, January 20, 2016 after a short illness. She was born May 19, 1922 in Southmayd, TX to W.E. and Beulah Edna (Crump) Mason and grew up in Wheeler, TX where she was a graduate of Wheeler High School.

She moved to Oklahoma City in 1960 from the Texas Panhandle, and to Mustang in 1962. She attended nurses training at St. Anthony Hospital in OKC, receiving her LPN Certificate in 1964. Edna worked several years at Hillcrest Hospital in Labor and Delivery before moving with Dr. Robert Goodloe to his new practice in Mustang.

After the death of her first husband Ray she returned to Hillcrest Hospital, retiring in the early 1990's. She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Mustang.

Edna was preceded in death by her parents, her two husbands Ray and Bill and six brothers R.D., Dub, Ray, Everett, Ralph and Troy.

Survivors include two sons Wayne Garner of Union City and James Garner and wife Lynna of Yukon. Also by eight grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren, one niece June and Ben Willingham, three nephews Gene, Bruce and Danny Mason.

Services ~ Monday, January 25, 2016 at First Baptist Church, Mustang, OK with interment in Mustang Cemetery.
