Glenwere Tot Stevenson, daughter of Alexander Franklin, and Annie Elizabeth (Bell) Lambert, was born February 12, 1891, at Okarche, Oklahoma, and passed away on September 10, 1984, at the Decatur County Hospital in Leon, Iowa.

Tot moved with her family to Illinois when she was small. Then they moved back to Oklahoma where she went to school through the 8th grade. The family then moved to Stewartsville, Missouri, where she attended high school and obtained a teaching certificate. She taught school at Stewartsville for a short time before moving to Ferris, Illinois.

Tot was baptized into the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in January 1908. Tot was married to Charlie Stevenson on January 19, 1913, at the home of her parents near Ferris, Illinois.

They lived and farmed near Adrian, Illinois, and Tot continued to teach school for several years. They later lived in Nauvoo, and in 1952 moved to a farm near Lamoni, Iowa, where they continued to farm until 1957, when they retired and moved into Lamoni.

They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in January of 1963 with an open house at the Lamoni RLDS church. In January of 1983, a card shower was held for them, marking seventy years of marriage.

Over the years much of Tot's life has been centered around her family. They had three sons, Duane and Leo, both of Lamoni, and Gomer, who died in infancy. She and Charlie both have had an influence in the rearing of their grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband, Charlie, of the Lamoni Manor, sons Duane and Leo, of Lamoni, fifteen grandchildren, seven step-grandchildren, thirty-six great-grandchildren, five step-great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren.

Other survivors include her two brothers, Gordon Lambert of Green Valley, Arizona, and Everett Lambert, of Santa Fe, New Mexico; and many other relatives and friends.
